Abstract has been running one of the most gamified points programs in crypto for a year and a half without ever saying the word that matters. The chain, a consumer-focused Ethereum Layer 2 built on the ZK Stack by Igloo Inc., the Pudgy Penguins company, launched mainnet in January 2025 with $11 million from Founders Fund and an onboarding flow that creates wallets from an email address. Since then it has scored its users relentlessly: XP for trading, gaming, voting and app usage, badges in three rarities, holder boosts for PENGU whales, streak mechanics borrowed straight from mobile games. What it has not done is announce a token. The team has said XP is expected to translate into a future allocation, per MEXC's guide, and "expected" is exactly where our status system draws the line: this is a speculative entry, and it stays one until Abstract publishes a ticker, a supply or a date.
The XP machine itself is worth understanding because it shows where airdrop meta has drifted. Nothing here rewards a single bridged deposit; everything rewards showing up repeatedly. The leaderboard recalculates every Monday. Flash badges appear and expire within days. Weekly badges reset. Secret badges hide inside apps until someone stumbles into the trigger. A daily vote on the Discover tab, held for 30 consecutive days, unlocks a permanent XP multiplier that resets to zero if you miss once. And PENGU holders get standing weekly multipliers in three tiers, starting at 88,888 tokens and scaling to 8,888,888. Every one of those mechanics is a retention curve dressed as a reward, which is not a criticism: it is what a consumer chain trying to prove it has consumers would rationally build.

How we would farm it, if at all
The honest frame for Abstract is time-cost arithmetic against an unknown numerator. Eighteen months of program history means the XP leaderboard is already deep, and every month without a token announcement grows the eventual dividing population while the pool, if one is ever set, gets decided later in a spreadsheet you will never see. That is precisely the shape our Monad entry documents from the other side: years of farmed hype, a fixed community allocation, and a median payout that valued checklist effort at very little. The farmers who did well there had deep, irregular, recognizably human usage. The same filter logic almost certainly applies here, on a chain explicitly designed to measure engagement quality.
So our position is unexciting and we hold it: use Abstract if its apps genuinely interest you, let XP be a byproduct, and never spend money you would not spend anyway. Buying PENGU purely to boost a speculative drop inverts the trade, because you take on real token risk to accelerate a hypothetical reward. Keep the operational hygiene from the safe farming guide: official domain only, no seed phrase ever, and assume that any "Abstract claim" page circulating before an official announcement is a drainer, because it is. If the token becomes real, the announcement will come from Abstract itself and this page will move to confirmed the same day, with the allocation math run against what the airdrop primer calls the only number that matters: community share divided by farming population. Until then, speculative means speculative.
How to position yourself
- Create an Abstract account at the official abs.xyz portal; the chain uses account abstraction, so a wallet can be spun up from an email. Treat any other domain offering Abstract XP or an early claim as hostile.
- Earn XP by actually using the ecosystem: trading, playing the chain's games, voting on the Discover tab and using dApps. XP is non-transferable and the leaderboard updates every Monday.
- Collect badges as they rotate: flash badges expire within days, weekly badges reset each week, and secret badges are hidden challenges found by exploring apps. Badges are the program's way of scoring breadth, not just volume.
- If you hold PENGU, the three boost tiers (from 88,888 PENGU upward) add weekly XP multipliers, and a 30-day voting streak unlocks a permanent one. Size that decision as a PENGU position first and a boost second; buying a volatile token to speed up a speculative airdrop is how farming costs quietly exceed rewards.
Reality check None of these steps guarantee an allocation. Teams change criteria late, add anti-sybil filters, and sometimes never ship a token at all. Only spend time and gas you are fine writing off.
