Editorial policy
What readers can expect from every page, how we keep to it, and how we make money without letting it touch what we write.
Purpose
PeopleLikeCrypto exists to help people who take part in crypto make better-informed decisions about airdrops, exchange listings and market events. We publish information, explanation and data. We do not publish trade calls.
Sourcing
- Primary sources first. An exchange's announcement page, a project's documentation, a regulator's release, a filing or on-chain data outranks an aggregator or a social post. When we only have secondary reporting, we say so and link it.
- Sources are listed on the page. Every story, guide and tracker page ends with the sources it was built from, and we name who made a claim when it is contestable.
- Numbers are cross-checked. A figure that matters is confirmed against a second source or the primary record. When sources conflict, the page says so and gives both.
- No invented data. Price charts are drawn from real exchange candles. Charts of reported figures show each figure with its source. We do not type a price series by hand or label an estimate as data.
Dates and freshness
A news story covers events from roughly the last 72 hours. Older events are marked as background. Tracker pages carry a "last checked" date, which is the day the page was compared with live sources, and a "next date" only when a source gives one. Short market recaps that no longer meet this standard are moved to the archive, kept unchanged, and removed from search and feeds.
Status labels
Airdrops are labelled live, confirmed, expected, speculative or ended, and listings as listed, announced or rumored. The definitions are on the verification page. Labels follow the evidence only. They are never softened or upgraded for a project, a partner or a reader.
Independence and money
- No paid coverage. Nobody can pay for a story, a tracker entry or a better label.
- Advertising. We display ads served by Google AdSense. Advertisers do not see or influence our content.
- Affiliate links. We carry a labelled sponsored link to a MiCA-regulated broker, currently Bitpanda. If you open an account through it we may earn a commission at no cost to you. It carries
rel="sponsored"and sits in boxes marked "Sponsored". It does not change which projects we cover or how we describe them. Where a points program offers a referral code and we publish ours, it is labelled the same way. - Positions. Our policy is to say so on the page when the people behind the site hold a material position in an asset a piece is about.
How AI is used
Research and drafting use AI assistance. Every page is then checked against a written standard (sentence length, banned filler, sourcing, dates, no invented figures) by automated checks that fail a page that does not meet it, and tracker pages are re-verified against live sources before their "last checked" date is changed. AI does not decide what is true: a claim without a source we fetched does not go in, and a claim a source contradicts comes out. The publisher of the site is responsible for what is published.
Corrections
When we find an error we fix it on the page, add a dated note when the change matters to a reader, and record it on the corrections page. Send corrections to contact@peoplelikecrypto.com with the link and your source.
What this is not
Nothing here is financial, investment, legal or tax advice. We describe how things work and what the evidence shows. Decisions, and any losses from them, are yours.
